Roofing FAQs
Leaks & Repairs
How do I know if my roof is leaking?
Discolored or sagging sheetrock, peeling paint, and drips during heavy rain are the most common signs. If you've had to place a pan under part of your ceiling, you have a leak. Leaks can travel, so the stain isn't always directly below the source.
Is a leaking roof an emergency?
It should be treated as urgent. Water that reaches insulation and framing can cause mold, mildew and rot — turning a simple repair into a major renovation. Call us as soon as you notice it.
What causes most roof leaks?
Missing or damaged shingles after wind, worn vents and pipe boots, failing flashing, and cracked or missing chimney mortar. Vents generally don't last as long as the roof itself and are one of the most common leak sources we repair.
Can you match my existing shingles?
In most cases, yes. We work with many suppliers and can usually get an excellent match on existing shingles so a repair blends in.
Hail & Wind Damage
What does wind damage do to a roof?
High winds can peel back shingles and underlying material. Once a peel starts, you can lose a large section of roof, exposing insulation and wood. Over time, wind also flexes the roof, causing small cracks near nails and flashing that worsen with each storm.
What does hail damage look like?
Hail can bruise, crack, or knock granules off shingles — often in ways that aren't visible from the ground. Dented gutters, vents, and AC units are strong clues. A professional inspection is the best way to know for sure.
Why shouldn't I hire a storm chaser?
After major storms, out-of-town operations flood the area. Many disappear once the work is done, leaving homeowners with no one to call about problems or warranties. A local, family-owned roofer will still be here next season.
Insurance
Do you help with insurance claims?
Yes. Our in-house insurance specialists help at every step — documenting damage, helping you file, meeting your adjuster on site, and reviewing your scope of loss so nothing gets missed.
Will my insurance cover a new roof?
If your roof has storm damage covered by your policy, insurance may cover repair or replacement minus your deductible. Coverage depends on your specific policy — we'll help you understand it.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Rise Roofing is fully licensed and insured in Oklahoma, including workers' compensation and full coverage for your project.
